As a devoted patron of Ossorio Bakery & Café, a beloved local eatery, I chose this as the subject for my branding class project. This rebrand challenged me to balance tradition with modernity while staying true to Ossorio’s charm and creating a professional identity.
The goal: redefine the brand to better capture its essence while honoring its legacy. 
My process began with a deep dive into its values and visual identity, culminating in a modern refresh suited for today's audience.
I examined existing brand touchpoints to identify visual and strategic gaps: logo, color palette, tone, packaging, and atmosphere.
When examining the identity of Ossorio Bakey & Cafe, three defining words emerged:
To visually showcase Ossorio’s personality, I explored ideas through thumbnail sketches. These sketches used imagery that had Floridan vibes while still holding true to the values.
I took the thumbnail sketches to Adobe Illustrator, where I fine-tuned various designs.
This exploration brought me to my final design decision: A bold, simplified wordmark with strong readability and versatility across applications. This wordmark opened up the door to having a smaller submark, for use in social media and smaller print.
A refreshed palette introduces a vibrant orange citrus accent paired with natural green, reflecting freshness, warmth, and community.​​​​​​​
